The Post Trade risk management team's mandate is mainly to ensure all required procedures, models, systems, reporting and governance are in place so that CDS and CDCC financial risks are managed according to TMX risk appetite and policy.
The risk exposure types managed by the Post Trade Risk Team include credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, model risk and operational risk.
To carry out its mandate, the Risk Team employs sophisticated financial risk models, validation frameworks, risk measurement and reporting systems.
The Risk Team collaborates with many internal and external stakeholders including CDS Participants and CDCC Clearing Members, our regulators and our TMX Group partners.
Since CDS and CDCC were designated as systemically important by the Bank of Canada in 2012, TMX Post Trade's role is to ensure the integrity and stability of the markets that it supports.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Risk Management, the Analyst's primary role is to support the day to day risk reporting and analysis, and to conduct studies, develop and implement risk management tools and contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management policies.
How does an Analyst, Risk management contribute at TMX?- Produce timely, accurate risk parameters and analysis related to exchange-traded derivative products and cleared OTC markets- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis on market, liquidity and credit risks and produce various risk reports for CDCC management and Board of Directors- Contribute to the risk analysis of new products or initiatives and assess the impact of these on CDCC's risk processes and measures- Develop new risk management processes and support the maintenance of related procedures to meet the business and regulatory requirements- Utilize programming skills to optimize current risk management processes with analytics tools ensuring that effective controls are in place- Provide assistance to identify the production related incidents, perform root cause analysis and present findings/solutions based on the understanding of the business- Proactively assist with ad-hoc request from external partners (Clearing Members, Regulators, etc) to provide insights and integrated data related to CDCC clearing services- Collaborate with multiple working groups (e.g., Information Technology, Risk Architecture, CDCC Operations, etc.)
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in finance, financial engineering or the equivalent with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Relevant risk management experience in fixed income or derivatives preferred
- Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Selfstarter who is proactive and capable of working independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment
- Ability to reflect, summarize, and present sophisticated ideas
- Bilingual, French and English (oral and written)
Assets:
- Matlab programming experience
- VBA programming experience
- Knowledge of SQL language
- Bloomberg experience
