Maintenance Technician
As a member of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general building and property maintenance, and minor appliance repair.
Duties include but are not limited to installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, while adhering to company processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Job Duties
- Appliance Repair
- Performing work on operating and nonoperating appliances including refrigerators, ovens, hot water tanks, dishwashers, washers/dryers, and fixtures; replacing and removing older appliances and fixtures as well.
- Plumbing includes diagnosing and unclogging toilets, smaller pipes, replacing piping and installing fixtures in bathrooms and kitchens.
- Drywall and Painting sand, scrape, patch, and fill drywall damage, painting interior and exterior surfaces to maintain.
- Cleans assigned facilities for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary and safe condition.
- Inspects sites and suites for the purpose of ensuring they are suitable for safe occupancy, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs.
- Evaluates equipment function for the purpose of maintaining facilities and/or complying with mandated health requirements.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled services and scheduled maintenance repairs.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and makes adjustments.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Involved in all aspects of building maintenance requirements for all new construction, renovations, or updates to current systems.
- Operates groundskeeping power equipment and maintains external property.
- May perform minor construction work such as dismantling and erecting walls, finish carpentry work, pouring concrete, etc.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED completion required.
- Craft apprenticeship, or a combination of a minimum of 3 years related work experience in building operation, coordination, maintenance, and repair required.
- Must have a strong understanding of the English language, including the ability to communicate and understand detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
- Ability to perform small repairs (e.g., caulking, wall repair, tile repair, flooring repair, replacing light fixtures, minor appliance repair or replacement).
- Must possess a valid Manitoba driver's license.
- Must physically be able to lift up to 75lbs.
- Must be available for oncall shifts on a rotational basis.
- Must be available for overtime as required, including evenings and/or weekends.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
- Clear criminal record is required.
