The Acquisition Risk Strategy Team within Canadian Cards is responsible for strategy, business planning, acquisition, risk strategies, product development, portfolio optimization and operational excellence.

Job Description:

The Manager, Business Cards (Risk Strategies), is part of the Canadian Credit Cards business.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Acquisition Risk Strategies, this role will be responsible for credit risk strategies in order to maximize profitability, within our Risk appetite, while improving the customer value proposition for our Business Cards product.

The Manager will also work closely with counterparts responsible for Acquisition, Adjudication, Policy, Pricing and Business Analysis in addition to partners in risk management, treasury, operations, marketing and technology.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop effective partnerships with each channel (Retail Distribution, Phone, Online and ATM), identifying and driving channelspecific opportunities to enhance risk strategy activities
  • Develop strong relationship with Retail Risk Management; ability to influence decisions and understand drivers
  • Advancement of risk management strategies for existing Business Cards customers to support profitable product growth and management of changing customer profiles
  • Refine credit risk strategies through detailed analysis of P&L, ongoing competitive research and review of marketing/risk management tactics, keeping in mind risk/revenue tradeoffs
  • Act as "First Line of Defense" by managing and identifying risk in credit strategies, ensuring strategies are within TD's Risk Appetite and risk management policies, design, implement and maintain effective internal controls, implement risk based approve processes for all new products, activities, processes and systems and monitor & report on risk profile
  • Drive improvements in E2E customer experience in each channel and optimize delivery of risk management programs
  • Provide concise, executive reporting on progress against credit risk management campaigns, business objectives and deliverables
  • Communicate portfolio risk management campaign results to a variety of audience, leveraging insight to inform and refine tactics and processes
  • Engage in strategic Credit Cards initiatives aimed at ensuring Canadian Cards products remain competitive in the marketplace and growth / profit opportunities are maximized
  • Maintain effective working relationships with partners including Finance, Collections & Recovery, Fraud Management and Risk Management.

Requirements:


  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and strong analytical skills (expertise in excel is required).
  • Extensive credit background which may include product management and/or risk management/compliance/audit. A solid knowledge of Credit Cards products, platforms (including adjudication) and processes, is preferred
  • Strong leadership and relationship building capabilities, with an ability to impact and influence others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of automated strategies and TRIAD
  • System and Analytical knwoledge
  • Experience managing projects and multiple initiatives
  • Post-Secondary Education preferably with a focus on quantitative discipline (e.g., math/statistics/business). Postgraduate education in a related field will be an asset
