As our Human Resources Manager, you will spearhead people programs embracing diversity and nurturing talent in a supportive environment. Leading with empathy, you will manage relations, guide equitable policy, coordinate enrichment opportunities, and scale our purpose-led culture.


Responsibilities

  • Establish company policies and procedures ensuring we are both fair to everyone and that we meet or exceed any government or legislated requirements
  • Make sure Aspire Bakeries treats our people fairly and with respect and that we keep a happy and healthy work environment where everyone feels their efforts are appreciated
  • Manage and liaison with the union representatives to ensure good relationships with the union by ensuring knowledge of the CBA
  • Coordinate the training initiatives in the Company in conjunction with the rest of the Aspire Bakeries Management team
  • Make sure Aspire Bakeries is conducting training sessions that will give our team members all the required training needed as well as providing training to have people excel in their jobs
  • Manage personnel files and performance management systems so that people know what is needed for them to continually improve in their jobs and so that we have a fair and proactive vehicle for reviewing our employee base
  • Manage and maintain our compensation systems including the updating of our Company compensation grid and hourly rate schedule to ensure the team is remunerated fairly
  • Deal with employees on issues about everyday HR activities including workrelated concerns or anything dealing with Safety in the Workplace
  • Acts as a nonbiased second avenue for employees to address any issues they may have with the company or any people in the company
  • Manage the employeerelated programs and union relations
  • Assist the Managers in the judicial use of temporary Labour in the facility and ensure they are only used as a last resort
  • Reports through daily conversation, memos as required, weekly written reports, quarterly reviews of mandates and action plans, and annual performance reviews
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality, and quality
  • Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed
  • Primarily in contact with:
  • General Manager
  • Reporting issues and setting direction
  • Daily or as needed.


  • CFO

  • Administrative duties
  • Daily or as needed.


  • Employees & Supervisors

  • HR issues and recruitment daily/as necessary.
  • Government Departments as needed.
  • Owners of the Company
  • Dealing with their issues
  • As needed.
  • The Health and Safety Coordinator
  • As needed
  • Perform all other duties assigned

Qualifications:


  • College/University diploma or degree related to Human or Employee Relations is required
  • 35 years of experience in the field of Human Relations is required
  • Knowledge of labour laws & regulations
  • W.C.B. Regulations is preferred
