Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conducting inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing varied equipment and systems according to NFPA guidelines, including waterbased fire protection systems, wet and antifreeze sprinkler systems, electrical alarm sensors, dry fire sprinkler systems, backflow preventers and special hazard systems and testing of gauges, standpipes, hoses and valves.
  • Locating test connections, risers, sprinkler locations, and alarm panels to conduct testing of facility.
  • Perform of all aspects of a weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual, 3 year, and 5year preventative maintenance activities
  • Perform work in accordance with company and client's safety procedures
  • Attend to emergency calls.
  • Travel will be required for this role.
  • Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Red Seal Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter
  • Fire Pump Operations and Maintenance Training certification preferred
  • Experience in testing and servicing Fire Pumps, PIV, Standpipes and Fire Hydrants.
  • Experienced in the Service/Repair of Wet and dry systems, deluge and specialty Fire Suppression Systems.
  • Good oral/ written communications & Good computer skills
  • Knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 2001, NFPA 11, and NFPA 20 the Standard for Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection systems.
  • CFAA is an asset.
  • Fire extinguisher certification is an asset.
  • A positive mindset and cando attitude
  • Highly motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy
