Description
Dragados Canada, Inc., the Canadian construction arm of the ACS Group (one of the world's largest international construction and engineering companies), is seeking a talented and experienced Procurement Manager to join its dynamic and energetic team.
Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry-leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, systems, and standards for the procurement function
- Manage project supplier and contractor relationships with assigned key/strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance
- Prepare tender documents for procurement of subcontractors/suppliers including: Term and condition of contract, Construction methodologies and schedule, Pricing requirements
- Review/assess subcontractor submissions with Bid Director/Bid Manager
- Prepare comparative reports for the subcontractor tenders
- Negotiate prices and conditions with subcontractors and vendors
- Prepare and negotiate the contracts, including terms and conditions
- Control the process if additional change orders are needed
- Develop and prepare reports for the managing staff to give an update of the procurement process
- Database the subcontractor prices with various trades
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science/ Commerce or Economics
- Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) designation is preferred
- Experience in heavy civil works construction industry is preferred
- Experience, familiarity, and existing relationship with major local suppliers in Quebec would be an asset
- Practical experience of procurement processes, methods, practices, and contract administration as well as accounting and scheduling principles
- Strong computer skills, specifically with MS Office and specialized procurement software
- Fluency in French is desired
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work productively with nominal supervision
- Availability to travel to monitor supplier's performance, production and schedules as needed
