- Work within the total camping program and cooperate with other staff members.
- Be familiar with all procedures and resources.
- Maintain a responsible level of maturity and leadership.
- Be available to attend all staff devotions and meetings, as kitchen schedule allows.
- Work in compliance with the OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and
- safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the highest health and safety standards for all campers, volunteers, Lower Camp, and staff
- Maintain and support the purpose of camping ministries by helping campers to develop socially, mentally, and spiritually. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed grade 12, plus specialized courses.
- Food Safe – Level 1 required, Food Safe – Level 2 an asset
- WHIMIS
- Standard First Aid with CPR – C
- OFA Level 3 an asset
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- A Minimum of 3 months of prior related experience cooking for large groups is required; preference is given to those with camp experience.
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures. PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to learn quickly and use initiative.
- Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
- Ability to work independently and participate as an active and responsible team member

- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
