Responsibilities:


This position manages all aspects of the company's used equipment sales, marketing and inventory control and is charged with driving our used sales budgets, margins and inventory turns.

The Used Equipment Manager influences company policy on used equipment reconditioning, sales process and used equipment valuation.


Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Work closely with Store Managers and Sales Reps to assist in the evaluation and sales of used equipment
  • Collaborate with General Sales Manager to balance used initiatives with new sales and market share goals
  • Review used inventory with Store Managers to ensure pricing consistency, description accuracy and overall marketability
  • Collaborates with Pool Fund Coordinator to create and maintain attractive retail finance programs
  • Train internal staff on equipment evaluation methodology
  • Manage all aspects of used wholesale business (dealer to dealer, auction, used purchases, IronConnect etc.)
  • Develop and update internal trade guides to reflect current market trends

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Equipment Sales / Sales Management,
  • An individual with a positive outlook who can proactively work with a diverse team
  • Possess extensive industry connections within our local trade area and outside our trade geographies
  • Understanding of retail finance offerings and comfortable structuring a customer proposal
  • Understanding of financial metrics as they relate to inventory control and sales management
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive brands of equipment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to new and evolving technology
