Community Living Kincardine & District is looking to hire a part-time Community Support Worker at around 12 hours per week in the Community Participation Supports & Services (CPSS) program.


Community Support Workers at Community Living Kincardine & District assist individuals with developmental disabilities in all aspects of their support plans, including living active lives in our community.

Our staff have helped individuals settle into new homes, plant and harvest in our community gardens, participate in awareness events at local public schools, and join public speaking workshops that took them on the air to share their stories Our staff also help individuals to reach their own personal goals like starting music lessons, participating in art classes, or learning how to ride a horse.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist individuals to reach goals set out in the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
  • Identify activities or programs within the community that match the interest of the individual and/or goal of their ISP
  • Be involved with proactive planning to identify and support activities of choice for each individual in areas of leisure, recreation, education, employment, volunteerism, and personal enrichment
  • Provide cognitive, social and/or emotional support using a personcentered approach.
  • Promote a safe environment for both staff and supported individuals.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:


  • Applicants with a Developmental Service Worker Diploma are preferred, and experience in the Developmental Services field or comparable postsecondary education in a relevant field is an asset or Personal Support Worker certification/ diploma (2 year program preferred).
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, as well as on a callin basis.
  • Other requirements include: a current criminal record check, valid G Driver's License, use of a reliable adequately insured vehicle, and a valid First Aid/CPR certificate.

25 per hour:
