We are seeking a dynamic, highly self motivated Sales person to join our team. This unique individual must possess excellent communication skills, be aggressive in targeting new business and exceed established goals for the hotel


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Actively solicits new business opportunities through prospecting new clients, organizations, associations, and social business through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded
  • Respond to all assigned RFPs according to procedure & brand standards.
  • Followup on inquiries, prospects, tentative bookings, moving each piece of business through the sales cycle.
  • Conduct meetings with individual clients by telephone or inperson to solicit and finalize business.
  • Invite qualified potential clients, in accordance with company and property policies and procedures, to the hotel for entertainment, lunches and site inspections.
  • Participates in training and other salesrelated meetings as required.
  • Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services in order to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Responsible for the development of market segments, building new client relationships while maintaining existing relationships to book repeat business for the hotel.
  • Responsible to achieve budgeted Market segment revenues/goals for designated quarter/year.
  • Ensure that all correspondence and reports are completed accurately and according to standards and policies.
  • Conduct effective sales presentations to groups and prospective clients, as required.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry & networking events to promote facilities and services.
  • Ability to travel to related industry events, conduct personal sales calls & entertainment with potential clients.
  • Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
Job Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years of hospitality experience with a minimum of two years Sales Manager experience in fullservice hotels preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and building relationships with clients, while aggressively developing new business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong creativity and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Opera property management system will be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to travel
  • Valid drivers license
