Sandhill has extensive experience in mining, heavy civil construction, drilling & blasting, aggregate production, road building, & more.

Sandhill is looking for a Project Coordinator for a project at the Sandhill Quarry in Kitimat, BC.

This project is ongoing and does not have an anticipated end date. The Project Coordinator can expect to work 10+ hour days on a rotation of 14-days-in, 7-days-out. Schedule may change depending on project needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a Project Coordinator or similar role
  • Midlevel or higher Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
  • 50 WPM typing speed
  • Completion of secondary school
  • Conversant with BC OHS Acts and Regulations
  • Understanding of the Health, Safety, and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC
  • Organized, adaptable, accurate, and detail oriented with strong multitasking, prioritization, and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Safetyminded
  • Onthejob training is provided

ASSETS

  • Professional Engineering degree, or Engineering Technologist designation
  • Experience with project and job costing
  • Construction or mining background
  • Current BC OFA Level 3 First Aid Ticket
  • Administrationrelated postsecondary education
  • Experience with accounting software

RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Project Support - Prepare daily production and quality reports. Enter data from timecards into daily LEM sheet to accurately account for time and materials.

2) Site Support - Provide support for Operating Manager, HSE personnel, and all other site team members, subcontractors, and visitors.

3) Payroll - Collect timecards daily, ensure they are accurate, bring errors and coding issues to Superintendent(s) for correction. Scanning of timecards to Payroll. Relay payroll-related questions to Payroll and Benefits Administrator. File originals at site office for reference.

4) Administration and Facilities - Keep detailed minutes from weekly meetings. Maintain accurate records of decisions, recommendations, RFI by the Mine Manager. Order supplies needed for site such as furniture, stationery, safety equipment, tools and provide backup for Purchaser. Shipping and receiving for site and shop. Recycling duties for shop and offices. Administer and track site pick up use. Arrange team member education and training. Liaise with officials from vendors, service providers, etc. Coordinate with cleaners. Organize lunches, staff functions and other staff benefits as required. Maintain proper supply amounts for stationery, water, coffee, etc.

5) Logistics - Assist with mobilization of supplies and equipment in conjunction with VP of Equipment & Logistics.

6) Safety - Conduct site-specific orientations and track approximate number of team members, subcontractors, and visitors. Assist in tracking and reporting site-related safety records such as incidents, supplies, training, certifications, etc. Participate in subcontractor management. Assist with document formatting, development, and review.

Liaise with HSE Manager and Human Resources re:
team member injuries and other HSE related issues.

7) Human Resources - Collect all New Employee Packages including banking information, benefits enrollment forms, RRSP enrollment forms, TD1s, driver's abstracts, copies of tickets/certifications, etc. Originals sent to head office. Assist team members with expense reports, change forms, etc. Relay team member questions to Human Resources.

8) Standard Corporate Responsibilities - Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal and waste management requirements. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish the job results.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Be conversant with relevant sections of the HSE Program. Understand WorkSafeBC acts and regulations, as well as the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in BC.
