What does a Youth Support Worker do?As an SCP's Youth Support Worker, your primary role is to provide trauma informed, strength based, relationship focused, and youth centred support to the residents of SCP's shelter. You will supervise, engage with, and make sure all needs of the youth are met. Reporting on youth progress and administration is required. In the Team Support Worker role you will be responsible for supporting case management plans, assisting with programming development and delivery, supporting/assisting youth with activities of daily living and life skill development, and modelling/championing positive relationships and healthy choices. Before the end of your shift you are responsible for documenting all pertinent information and communicating pressing concerns to the case management team.


What you bring to the table-
An unrestricted Saskatchewan driver's license:


  • Criminal Record Check with
    Vulnerable Sector Clearance:

Cultural awareness required

  • Ability to remain calm in escalated/crisis situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience working with:
  • An Indigenous population
  • Vulnerable populations with challenging behaviours
  • Youth with varying abilities, cognitive impairments, and developmental delays
  • Youth currently or previously having experienced exploitation
  • Youth struggling with substance misuse or addictions
  • Youth currently or previously gang affiliated
  • Youth centred philosophy, trauma informed care, & strength based approaches
  • Mac Computers, Microsoft Office, Google Drive
  • Preference will be given to applicants with:
  • Conflict Resolution, Crisis Intervention, & DPVS
  • ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, & Suicide Prevention Training
  • CPR/First-Aid (B), Water & Food Safety certifications
