Hours of Work 40 per week
- Position Summary_
Work involves the translation of ideas, rough sketches, instructions, specifications and calculations from engineers, surveyors, or designers into complete and accurate working plans for various engineering purposes.
Develops new drawings by utilizing or combining previously unrelated elements.This position would be under direct supervision of the Project Engineer and/or Team Leader with some independent work.
- Qualifications_
- Diploma in civil engineering or related program
- Eligible for membership in OACETT
- Knowledge of codes and design practices.
- Knowledge of CADD systems (Civil 3D, MicroStation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Series.
- Basic understanding of geographic information systems.
- Duties & Responsibilities include;_
- Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from project team (Project Engineer).
- Plot profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls, tunnels, overhead power lines, and other structures.
- Draft detailed drawings of structures and installations such as roads, culverts, water, and wastewater systems.
- Make final drawings of proposed designs, checking dimensions materials to be used, and relation of various elements to the whole design, make changes to existing drawings and perform calculations.
- Recognize and identify conflicts or areas of concern in engineering designs.
- Quantity calculations.
- Perform duties on CADD systems and contribute to the overall team effort,

- Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve.
- Ability to selfmonitor/regulate; able to work independently and will little supervision.
- Language Skills_
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

- Ability to speak effectively with team members and employees of the organization.
