Position Overview


We are currently looking to fill a part-time position for Food Service Worker/Dietary Aide at The New Vista Society located in Burnaby, BC.


Detailed Overview:


Positions at this level perform a variety of duties within a food service operation such as portioning and serving meals, washing and peeling vegetables and fruit, preparing items such as tea, coffee and toast, and washing dishes and utensils.


Responsibilities:


  • Setting up and maintaining the serveries they are assigned to
  • Recording all required documentation (temperature logs, dishwashing logs, meal time temp logs)
  • Prep juice, coffee, tea
  • Prepare and distribute meals according to the dietary plan
  • Clear and sanitize tables
  • Washing of all dishes from dining room
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing serveries
  • Proper lockout and cleaning of all equipment

Qualifications:


  • Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Ability to understand all dietary procedures and policies
  • Ability to operate and maintain the equipment safely
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to deal with others effectively following New Vista's Values
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to organize work load
