Barjac Construction Management is seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. The Heavy Equipment Operator positions are for commercial projects located within the City of Calgary and the surrounding area. Barjac is a year-round employer with an emphasis on the summer construction season. Work is based on a 44-hour work week, but overtime and weekends are customary.

Our project scope includes deep services, site grading, foundation excavation, parking lot prep, building equipment installations, building undergrounds, and slab prep.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to operate different types of equipment including, but not limited to, excavator, skid steer, and packers to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to take direction from other teammates.
• Reading grade stakes and plans.
• Assist ground crews when required.
• Work and follow instructions given by crew foreman and superintendents.
• Work together as a team to accomplish the project goals.
• Work within the safety parameters as outlined in the company health and safety manual.
• Prepared to work six days a week, if required.
• Required to inspect all equipment daily before use.
• Have a valid driver license.
• Able to travel to various sites in and around Calgary.

Experience:

• 35 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience operating multiple pieces of equipment.
• Experience performing the tasks pertaining to our scope of work.
• Safety training is an asset.
