As a Metering Co-op, you'll have the opportunity to contribute as part of our team, work alongside and learn from experienced and talented professionals.
Reporting to the Manager, Metering and Technical Services, you will work within a department that is responsible for installation, removal, repair, inspection, testing and calibration of meters, metering equipment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Working with Meter Technicians as a helper/2nd person
- Assisting with weekly meter downloads
- Organizing meter shop; scrapping meters
- Monitoring and updating metering inventory
- Uploading new material (CTs/PTs, Meters) into Customer Information System (CIS)
- Packaging, shipping, delivering, picking up meters and processing all related paperwork
- Generating and printing metering service orders
- Processing and filing meter inspection certificates and updating CIS with current seal information
- Entering Record of Installation information into CIS
What we are looking for:
- Enrolled and have good standing in a 3year College level Technologist program
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reading comprehension and mathematical skills
- Knowledge of relevant computer skills (MS Office)
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
- A good work ethic with a positive approach to work and coworkers; energetic, motivated with an excellent attendance record
What you will need to be successful:
- Keen interest in Electrical discipline, including underground distribution system
- Valid G driver's license
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, analytical and trouble shooting skills
- First aid training and certification is an asset
- Electrical Safety awareness training is an asset
