ACCOUNTING MANAGER

We are currently looking for a full time
Accounting Manager to join our team Our
Accounting Manager will responsible to establish best practices in accounting, process and controls while overseeing cash management, month end close processes and assist Head of Finance with monthly reporting of Divisional P&Ls vs.

Budget and Latest Estimate.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES:

CASH MANAGEMENT (TREASURY) + PAYABLES

  • Responsible for managing accounts payable and presenting weekly payment plan to Head of Finance based on current cash position
  • Work collaboratively with procurement and other cross functional teams to update rolling 13 week and annual cash flow projection model
  • Identify best practices for managing cash flow and provide recommendation to Head of Finance
  • Ensure PO's issued match bill from vendor, issue and record payments accurately and liaison with vendors as necessary
  • Responsible for overseeing monthly expense reimbursement payment in accordance to the policy for travel, tips, gas, mileage etc.

MONTH END PROCESS

  • Responsible for analyzing month end inventory count results and analyzing variances by working with cafe managers and production facility
  • Identify best practices related to inventory count procedure and inventory accounting and COGS set up in NetSuite for a manufacturing company
  • Reconciliation of accrued purchases, gift cards and other liability accounts
  • Ensure intercompany reconciliation is completed and accurate on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for managing a detailed fixed asset ledger and continuity schedule for posting monthly depreciation journal entries
  • Maintain loan amortization schedule for Canadian Small Business Financing loans, promissory notes and other financing arrangements
  • Ensure lease and rent schedule is up to date and accurate for GAAP and Cash purposes across all entities
  • Assist with bank and credit card reconciliation of all company accounts (if required)
  • Ensure Month End is completed with 10 Business Days

PAYROLL

  • Using Ceridian (or new HRIS System Humi) software, process biweekly payroll for over 100 employees ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation
  • Receive an input all employee change requests received from internal stakeholders (e.g. pay rates, biweekly hours, and job titles)
  • Update payroll to ensure all deductions are up to date including benefits premium deductions
  • Work with internal teams to ensure payroll records are accurate and updated in a timely manner

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS + OTHERS

  • Assist with ad hoc analytical work such as evaluation of new or change in business opportunities and price increase.
  • Work With Systems analyst and Head of Finance to identify process automation and improvement in Netsuite
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of Pilot Coffee Roasters;
  • Carry out all other reasonable duties assigned by the company.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ Years experience in accounting and finance role preferably in Retail or CPG, experience in a start up environment
  • Completed or currently pursuing a professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Completion of postsecondary education in Finance, Accounting, or a businessrelated field
  • Experience in inventory management or within a production facility is highly desirable
  • Intermediate to advanced accounting knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel Skills for financial reporting and modeling
  • NetSuite experience is highly preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment with some exposure to a warehouse environment where motorized equipment is operated
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities with regular deadlines
