Description
Our Kingsville Distribution Center, a 150,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking aCIC Supervisor - Peppers **to join our team.
The essential function of the supervisor is to be the primary person responsible for achieving all departmental goals including rejection percentage, inventory freshness, timely allocations, minimize dumps/donates, and increase percentage from inventory.
The Supervisor is the commodity department's main contact with both the commodity planners and operations management. The supervisor oversees all department subordinates, including training, as well as dayto day functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieve departmental Goals for including rejection percentage, inventory freshness, timely allocations,
- Work with the Operations team to communicate daily Production and Sales Order allocations.
- Insure all sales orders are allocated through inventory or production so that customer service objectives
- Maintain, in conjunction with planner, an inventory plan for the 03day horizon that includes tracking of
- Routinely check product quality in inventory and at receiving.
- Coordinate and assist in communicating customers' expectations with the commodity team, Production,
- Maintain regular communication with the Commodity Planners, Production Schedulers, Commodity
- Maintain regular communication with Receiving and Logistics, with specific emphasis on load priorities
- Make suggestions to Sales for the disposal/movement of surplus commodities in a timely fashion.
- Verify GMP and Organic compliance is maintained in assigned area of responsibility.
- Communicate missed quality issues with procurement and quality to get NCs in place.
- Liaise between sales and commodity operations to insure customer expectations are satisfied.
- Coordinate all sample requests through MPL2 for all commodities.
- Coordinate DNS/Blowout/Dump product lists daily for all commodities.
- Training new hires for the Commodity Inventory Controller positions.
- Be involved in the interview process for the Commodity Inventory Controller position.
Education/Background Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in produce industry preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Willingness to work independently, with mínimal supervision and take ownership of job.
- Comfortable making decisions.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Will need to learn significant Product / Industry knowledge.
- Must be highperformance team player and be willing to work in a dynamic, growing, demanding and fast paced

- Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately handle outoftheordinary issues with a sense of
- Must have ability to effectively followup and handle multiple projects with strong personal time management
- Proficient in basic computeruse skills (i.e. Word, Excel) and will need to learn NAV, JDA.
- Must be a selfstarter and willing to work flexible hours.
Working Conditions:
- Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50°F.
- Background noise (from refrigeration) approaches 70 dcbs.
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending on a regular basis. Limited kneeling, squatting
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills
