We are a growing, dynamic clean-tech company that identified the need to establish a full-time role for a person with a technical background to build structures and oversee all aspects of environment, health and safety.
The global team is a diverse group of professionals from different cultures united by the goal of helping the world to decarbonize and be sustainable.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution abilities
- Excellent communicator you are articulate and can get your message across clearly both verbally and in written form
- Ability to act as a department of one you are strategic and tactical
- Build effective working relationships at all levels within the company, clients and contractors
- Strong attention to detail and ownership; able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to fast changing situations
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in an efficient and professional manner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Travel within North America and internationally as required
- Technical certificate or degree is an asset
- Proficiency in Spanish, French or Mandarin is an asset
The opportunity
Play a key role in supporting the overall growth of the company by developing, implementing and maintaining environmental, healthy and safety systems across our operations and project activities.
- Newly created role to develop, implement and monitor systems, processes and procedures to maintain the highest levels of health, safety, quality and environmental performance throughout the company (operations, laboratories, projects and offices)
- Establish site specific EH&S requirements based on local codes and jurisdictions
- Proactively conduct strategic assessments and audits of health, safety, compliance and environmental costs
- Monitor and report EH&S performance throughout the company
- Travel to operating sites globally
- Interface and liaise with clients on all aspects of EH&S
- Enforcement of EHS Regulations such as WorkSafe BC and its equivalents in other provinces
- Organize and oversee staff training including: MSHA, OSHA, First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, H2S Alive, LOTOTO
