Job Summary
The incumbent ensures the overall smooth running of the yard, customer service and delivery service. They are responsible for the planning of tasks and their execution, both at yard level and for deliveries. They are responsible for their team and must make sure to maintain a good working climate.

They are called upon to manage and settle, within the limits of their power, all the problems that may arise in the yard, and this at all levels.

The assistant foreman must also ensure compliance with standards and procedures related to occupational health and safety.


Main Responsibilities
Customer Service Management.

  • Manage customer complaints relating to delivered products.
  • Provide excellent customer service in the lumber yard.
  • Ensure the accuracy of customer orders.
  • Ensure crossverification of credit returns.
Staff Management.

  • Manage conflicts between employees.
  • Coach and develop their employees' skills.
Yard Operations Management.

  • Manage the reception of stocks from the yard.
  • Manage the yard inventory.
  • Manage yard deliveries.
  • Keep the yard clean.

Required Skills and Qualifications Profile
Training/Experience/Certification

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Have experience in planning and coordinating deliveries.
Knowledge

  • Have good knowledge of construction materials.
  • Have knowledge of truck mechanics.
  • Know the SAAQ loading and stowage rules.
  • Have a good command of the French language, both orally and written, English (asset).
Required Skills and Aptitudes

  • Know how to drive lifts and trucks.
  • Be in excellent physical shape.
  • Know how to plan and coordinate.

Working Conditions

  • Standing and outside working hours.
  • Frequent trips.
  • Loads up to 75 pounds to lift.
