Operating 16 state-of-the-art centres in Vancouver, VSOCC is a leader in the childcare sector.

We have amazing regular full time and part time staff as well as an outstanding group of on-call / casual support teachers.

"On-Call" staff are scheduled when our regular staff are away on vacation or on leave.

Every day, VSOCC needs casual staff in our:

  • Licensed Infant, Toddler, 35 group daycare and Preschool programs
  • Licensed Before and After School programs

In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have:

  • Completed Grade 12 and be at least 19 years of age
  • ECE Certification or ECE Assistants actively in training for ECE or Responsible Adult Certificate for School Age program
  • Basic First Aid training and certification
  • Training and experience in children's programs, recreation, teaching, or in a related field
  • Valid work visa, permanent residency, or citizenship status
  • Good knowledge and understanding of ageappropriate programming and developmental needs of children
  • Good knowledge and awareness of BC's ELF and emergent curriculum
  • Experience working with a diverse population of children and their families
  • Initiative, creativity, and enjoy change
  • Good communication skills

Additional skills and experiences may include:

  • Child care experience working in an inclusive child care setting
  • Infant Toddler and/or Special Needs certification & license (or working towards it).
  • Second Language

Terms of Employment:


  • Salary: $ per hour + 8.8% of salary in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays and $6 per hour in Wage Enhancement for eligible ECEs (holding ECE Basic, ECE IT, ECE SN, or ECE IT/SN)
  • Casual / On-Call (up to 37.5 hours per week)
  • Starting: As soon as possible
