Hawkeye Industries Inc. is an Edmonton, Alberta based manufacturer of oilfield equipment, focusing primarily on venting and level-indication products for above-ground tanks. We are looking for a
part time Accounting Clerk that is a highly motivated, self-starter for our company.


The Accounting Clerk's role is to ensure that the company is run efficiently by maintaining timely and accurate accounting records.

The Accounting Clerk, on a day-to-day basis is responsible for processing accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions and supporting the Controller with other accounting functions as needed.


About the Role

  • Process accurate invoicing of customers;
  • Ensuring timely receipt of payments and lodgement into bank accounts;
  • Providing review and followup for unpaid or overdue invoice;
  • Investigate, follow up and resolve dated and disputed invoices;
  • Reconcile discrepancies and maintain all accounts receivable records;
  • Facilitate timely and accurate payments to suppliers to ensure our credibility and integrity is maintained;
  • Receive and review supplier invoice for reasonability, accuracy and legitimacy;
  • Gather invoices linked to purchase orders and match receiving documents;
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors and facilitate correction by supplier when necessary;
  • Scrutinize freight invoices for accuracy and ensure charges are reflected in billing;
  • Maintain all accounts payable records diligently;
  • Manage and maintain the Accounting mailbox;
  • Support Controller with other accounting functions, as needed

About the Qualifications

  • Postsecondary certification or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is required;
years of experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable

  • Strong ability to use Sage50 or Safe 300, Office Suite and M365. Experience with Teams/SharePoint and Sage software would be an asset;
  • A keen attentiontodetail with a keen ability to recognize, investigate and resolve errors;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional telephone etiquette;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments and external parties.
