Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Clinical Educator position.


Qualifications:


  • Registered Nurse, currently registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
  • A Baccalaureate Degree and/or advanced preparation in Adult Education
  • A Master's Degree in Adult Education is preferred
  • Five years clinical experience, with at least one year in the Emergency Department
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Current ACLS certification is required.
  • Experience with IV insertion, Glucometer testing and BDC medication is required.
  • CTAS, TNCC and NRP certification is considered an asset.
  • Excellent Patient Assessment, Intervention and Evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in clinical practice and adult education.
  • Active participation in professional and educational organizations.
  • Ability to promote effective relationships within all departments in the hospital.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated warmth, interest and empathy in interactions with patients
  • Demonstrated ability to function productively in a very demanding environment with a high patient turnover
  • Demonstrated ability to give and receive feedback in a open and constructive manner
  • Evidence of a commitment of selfdirected learning as demonstrated by the courses taken
  • Demonstrated skills in patient teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Privacy and Confidentiality
  • Excellent attendance record and work ethics in previous positions

Summary of Duties:


  • Works closely with the Leadership Team to develop, organize, and provide orientation for all staff
  • Together with Human Resources, facilitate and track all mandatory education in the organization
  • Facilitates access to learning opportunities for team members.
  • Coordinates, develops and assists with implementing and evaluating additional Competency programs in collaboration with leadership.
  • Provides and/ or facilitates training and retraining to team members with identified work performance deficiencies as requested by leadership
  • Promotes educational opportunities for team members.
  • Arranges for programs/seminars/conferences as required and requested.
  • Identifies and facilitates continuous quality improvement initiatives using lean principles.
  • Promotes and supports empowerment of team members in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Acts as a change agent and supports change in a proactive manner.
  • Acts as a representative on Regional Professional Practice and/or Clinical Informatics committees as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the leader of Professional Practice

Other pertinent conditions:


  • Salary per the ONA collective agreement ($36.26 per hour to $51.04 per hour)
