Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck or van, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up flooring materials or to deliver packages.

Load and unload vehicle. The flooring box weight can vary anywhere between 15 KGS - 35 KGS. The Delivery Driver plays an integral role in fulfilling client orders in a timely fashion and with excellence. From time to time will help with running errands, maintenance/up-keep of the showroom and warehouse.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles in a timely manner.
  • Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
  • Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
  • Review and verify invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
  • Contact customers to confirm delivery details.
  • Establish and maintain outstanding relations with customers.
  • Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulations, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo and billing statements.
  • Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, such as railroad stations, plants, residences, offices, or within industrial yards.
  • Warehouse maintenance and upkeep.
  • Run errands for the office.
  • Use of saw for cutting samples and label them with proper material specifications.
  • Use of machine or saw to make stair nosings.
  • Maintain uptodate and accurate warehouse inventory records.
  • Organize sample boxes and client returned goods.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • A valid driver's license, and in some cases, a commercial driver's license, with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of how to handle merchandise safely.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
  • Knowledge of the flooring products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with using navigation systems.
  • Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
  • Excellent vision and handeye coordination to stay safe while driving.
  • Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo.
  • Great problemsolving skill to help find the best possible solutions for clients.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
