Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the handler/Operator works in a baggage room environment.

They are responsible for ensuring the fluidity of the baggage sorting system by resolving blockages and delivering non-standard and non-consolidated baggage.

Several workstations are available (MCS, BTS, Runner, etc).

They are called In teams depending on the traffic to execute the various contingency plans and represent Equans within the airport community.


Description

Handler

  • Responsible for the handling of all baggage moving on the conveyors;
  • Resolve blockages;
  • Operation of manual encoding stations;
  • Manual identification of baggage not recognized by the automatic identification system;
  • Pick up and clean bins according to designated points at departures;
  • Participate in various contingency plans in effect;
  • Adherence to baggage screening guidelines and procedures;
  • Participation in the continuous improvement culture.

Operator

  • Have a college diploma (D.E.C) in a related technical field;
  • Ability to handle sensitive documents and proprietary information in a confidential manner;
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical documents and diagrams;
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
  • Ability to work accurately through multiple interruptions and frequent changes in activity and/or workload during a typical work day;
  • Willing to work rotating schedules;
  • Able to qualify for a security screening and medical examination.

Requirements:


  • The person must be authorized to work in Canada;
  • Able to qualify for a security screening;
  • Relevant work experience, no specific qualifications;
  • Willingness to work on a rotating schedule;
  • Be in good physical condition;
  • Must be versatile and resourceful.
