The Office of the Seniors Advocate serves as an independent voice for seniors, monitoring and advising on a range of seniors' services in British Columbia.

This includes advocating in the interests of seniors and analyzing issues important to the welfare of seniors generally.

The advocate works with seniors and key stakeholders (governments, community agencies, private organizations and advocacy groups) to identify and understand systemic issues (i.e.

those challenges that affect a large number of seniors) and make recommendations to government and those who deliver seniors' services.


The Manager, Analytics will lead the design and implementation of major and complex statistical and policy analysis projects and provide authoritative advice as a recognized economics expert, to government executive, on matters impacting strategic direction, major financial commitments and significant government priorities.


Job Requirements:


  • Master's Degree in Economics or closely related field such as statistics, health information science, commerce, or mathematics and a minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience *; OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics or closely related field such as statistics, health information science, commerce, or mathematics and a minimum of 4 years of recent relevant experience*.
  • Experience conducting and leading major and complex economic studies and research projects.
  • Recent relevant experience must include:
  • Experience analyzing complex problems.
  • Experience developing applied statistical modeling and conducting and leading major statistical/economic studies and research projects of considerable complexity.
  • Experience in coding.
  • Experience preparing written reports and providing expert advice and recommendations to senior management and executive.
  • Comprehensive statistical research experience, preferably related to healthcare or public health issues.

Preference may be given to applicants who have:

  • Experience in seniors services.
  • Experience in the health sector.
  • Experience supervising, leading, coaching and mentoring staff.

About this Position:

There is currently one (1) temporary position available until March 31, 2024, that may be extended or become permanent.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
This position is located in Victoria, B.C.
