The Food Service Worker 1 assists in the overall operations of the Students' Union's coffee shop, Daily Grind
, which is located in the Students' Union Building on the U of A's North Campus.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:


  • Casual positions, working 2-4 shifts per week (early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends).

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare coffees (including speciality) and serve muffins, cookies, scones and other food products in a food safe manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and public clients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Ensure safe storage, sanitation and cleanliness of all areas and supplies.
  • Serve as cashier as required.
  • Assist with storage and inventory of food products in a timely manner.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Provinciallyrecognized food safety certification is an asset.
  • Related industry experience is an asset.
  • Conscientious work habits, appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Excellent customer service skills including knowledge of food quality standards
  • Minimum Alberta Grade 12, or equivalent.
