    Job Title: Laboratory Analyst

    As a key member of our Water & Wastewater Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various physical, organic, inorganic, chemical and microbiological analysis of raw and treated water/wastewater. The analyst will work in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory to ensure compliance with provincial and federal mandates.

    • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in a related discipline such as Biology or Chemistry. Alternatively, they may hold a three-year diploma in Marine Environmental Technology from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Analysis: Conduct physical, organic, inorganic, chemical and microbiological tests on raw and treated water/wastewater samples to verify treatment process performance. Interpret results accurately to evaluate the effectiveness of changes made to treatment processes.

    2. Laboratory Operations : Operate all necessary laboratory equipment effectively. Maintain laboratories facilities including requisitioning supplies keeping adequate inventory levels servicing required maintenance tasks schedule properly personnel accordingly taking prompt actions dealing errors immediately also handle supplies inventory satisfactorily participate development quality assurance protocols reviewed improve efficiency while ensuring adherence regulatory requirements enforcing set standards since correct accuracy problems identified order undergo thorough investigation response action implemented period timely manner requires failure immediate alert reporting line manager inform operation impacted upon occurrence impact meaningful review discussion same situations concerned additional concerns held discussed reconsider “)
