Your Opportunity:

Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre has an opportunity for a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our team.

As an HCA at our rural hospital, you will work on Unit 2, an 18 bed acute care and transition bed unit with opportunities to float to ER and Unit 1, an acute care unit with obstetrics.

You will be a vital part of our collaborative health care team.

Previous experience will be valuable in transitioning to your role, however you will be provided with mentorship and education opportunities to increase competence and confidence in your role.

You will be expected to provide safe and competent care to our patients in a collaborative, family centered care approach.

As a member of our team you will be flexible in what area of the hospital you work in as priorities will change rapidly between each unit.

Ponoka, which means Elk in Blackfoot serves a large First Nations community. Our town is located along Highway 2 in the Battle River Valley within an hour drive to major cities. Our community provides a great opportunity for families, adventurists, and people wanting a rural life.


Description:


As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
