The camp is located on the shores of beautiful Lac de L'achigan in Saint-Hippolyte. We are an English summer camp that welcomes about 100 young people from 6 to 17 years old. The majority of our campers are followed in youth protection.

Camp Weredale offers these young people a safe and beautiful environment in which they can be close to nature, create lifelong friendships and hopefully begin to heal.

Responsible to:

Assistant Camp Director

Aid in developing programs in order to create awareness for the natural world in both campers and staff and play a substantial role in aiding in the development of the REAL Team program.

Specific Responsibilities:

Attend all precamp activities and workshops.
Organize and implement all nature activities and programs during activity periods and SIPS.
Evaluate and make any necessary changes or recommendations to all nature programs.
Animate and implement the SEQUOIA program (see note below).
Organize an ongoing program for the Sequoias during rest periods.
Aid in planning and implementing REAL Team activities.
Attend regular staff meetings with the Program Director and Head Counselor.
Write a yearend report stating any concerns and recommendations for following season.
Meet at least twice during the summer with Camp Directors for formal evaluations.

Requirements:

Must be familiar with nature, the environment, conservation and the preservation of the natural world;
Must also possess organizational skills, programming skills, excellent communication skills as well as knowledge in conflict management and listening skills.

Employment Status:

Summer, full-time, day, evening, weekend. Transportation, lodging, and food are included at Camp Weredale during the stay.
