As the Aircraft Maintenance Planner, you will:


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for updating the Company's Maintenance Plans for all aircraft and engines ensuring compliance with all scheduled/regulatory/technical requirements for all planned maintenance in costeffective manner;
  • Negotiate with maintenance services vendors and suppliers. Oversee their activities before, during, and after aircraft planned maintenance, and ensure that the best value is achieved for the Company while preventing operations from being disrupted;
  • Create, review, and sequence work packages for all aircraft planned maintenance and schedules according to FAA, GMM, or other regulatory requirements in the most efficient way possible;
  • Ensures aircraft maintenance controllers and supervisors are communicating effectively with operations staff, flight crews, flight mechanics and/others;
  • Works within limits of authority to approve discrepancies that are deferrable under approved MEL and NEF guidelines;
  • Support corrective actions suggested by aircraft maintenance controllers or supervisors based on aircraft servicehistory, analysis, applicable General Maintenance Manual (GMM) guidance, and Company guidelines;
  • Create work schedules and bid for all aircraft maintenance personnel ensuring staff coverage that always meets the Company's needs of service;
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance and related discrepancies are entered into Electronic Record Keeping System as required;
  • Coordinate material support requirements for routine and nonroutine items;
  • Review labor assigned and compare to expected requirements;
  • Coordinate with other maintenance providers for spare parts/engines as required to minimize operational disruption to schedule;
  • Ensure maintenance systems are properly updated with aircraft/engine block hours, flight hours, cycles as appropriate before and after heavy maintenance;
  • Schedule maintenance deferred items during periods where no heavy maintenance is being performed; and
  • Uphold safety and security procedures and awareness.
