    As our City undergoes significant asset renewal and encourages new development, the Operations Department requires an Operations Manager who will help manage and maintain City Infrastructure and properties. You will utilize, gain or expand your experience in the maintenance of water, sewer, storm sewer, roads, sidewalks, parks, fields, tot lots, trails, cemetery, sanitation, landfill, and street lighting.

    What you'll do...

    • Oversee, coordinate, monitor, and manage public works operations and service delivery.
    • Participate in developing capital plans to facilitate the replacement, upgrade and expansion of infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of service recipients, client groups and stakeholders in a growing community.
    • Contribute to developing and maintaining a transportation, stormwater, and sanitation system asset inventory.
    • Participate in developing standard operating guidelines (SOGs), operating practices and procedures, and maintenance programs to effectively operate the City's transportation network, stormwater system, and sanitation service while managing risk and promoting public and workplace safety.
    • Keep current on sector trends and developments and recommend new and innovative approaches that could enrich City services and operations.
    • Participate in rotational on-call.

    What you'll bring...
    Required Education & Skillset

    • Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (CET) or Environmental Engineering Technology (EET) plus two years prior job-related experience or a combination of training and experience in civil construction works.
    • Civil construction experience or a relevant Trade that demonstrates mechanical aptitude.
    • Must have a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and the ability to obtain an RCMP Criminal Record Search, including a Vulnerable Sector Check.

    Preferred Education & Skillset

    • Valid Water and Wastewater EOCP certification.
    • Water Treatment Level IV and Wastewater Treatment Level IV is an asset.

    Compensation & Benefits
    This full-time, exempt manager position offers a competitive salary and superior benefits package, including a defined benefit pension plan. A relocation allowance is available if needed.
