OVERVIEW:


The Human Resource Manager works with the leadership team to strategize, implement, oversee, and evaluate organization human resource functions, including recruitment, workplace health and safety, policy and procedure, performance management, professional development, and workforce planning.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Overseeing onboarding practices, including working with organization leadership to ensure effective organization and department orientations.
  • Strategize with managers to implement staffing structures that effectively respond to need and mandate.
  • Work with leadership to complete scheduled review and revision of Human Resource Policy.
  • Work with the finance department to establish and maintain salary scales aligned with funding model.
  • Lead functional employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Maintain understanding and applicability of Manitoba labour laws and best practices.
  • Drive the development, implementation, and improvement of HR processes and systems.
  • Oversee employee pension and benefits administration.
  • Support and coordinate with the office social committee for special events.
  • Collaborate with various levels of management to ensure effective human resources support. Travel to First Nations served by the organization to maintain working knowledge and contribute to relationshipbased service model.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Completion of postsecondary education with a focus in Human Resources Management or a related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture and traditional philosophies.
  • Three to five years' experience in Full-Cycle Human Resources management.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba Labour Laws
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, policy development, and HR process management.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak Anishinaabe is an asset.
  • A professional and selfmotivated approach.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing (MS Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), Email (Outlook) and Internet.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) sector and legislation an asset but not mandatory.
  • Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks prior to start date.
  • Successful applicant(s) will also be required to provide proof of COVID19 vaccination prior to start date.
