Responsibilities:
-
Meal Preparation - all meals and snacks are catered. You will be required to prepare snacks (cut fruit or loaves) for serving; partition catered meals between all classrooms; set tables

-
Hygiene Maintenance:

- ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following proper hygiene and safety protocols in food handling, storage and equipment use.

Allergy Awareness: Be vigilant about food allergies and sensitivities among the students and take all the necessary precautions

Supervision: Oversee mealtime activities, ensuring a positive and safe dining experience for the children and assist with feeding where necessary.

Staff Coverage: Provide support by covering staff during lunch breaks and/or program planning.

Cooking:may be required to cook meals occasionally (pasta Wednesdays)


Experience:


  • Previous experience in the food industry or as a kitchen helper is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods is a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is beneficial
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

Skills:


  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment
  • Basic understanding of food safety guidelines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks

Salary:
$18.55-$20.55 per hour
