Length of term: 4 months (Summer 2023)


Hybrid/Remote:
This co-op opportunity is voluntarily in person, remote or hybrid. If you decide remote or hybrid, you will be required to work within the province. Remote work outside of the province will not be a possibility.


Reporting to the Occupancy Analyst, the Workplace Strategy - Co-op will assist with project delivery & design support in the Workplace Strategy team within Corporate Real Estate (CRE) and be an active participant in the success of Sun Life's business plans and goals.

The CRE team is responsible for the design and build of corporate and financial centre offices.


What will you do?

  • Develop preliminary feasibility designs and space planning exercises for corporate office spaces
  • Conduct surveys of existing GTA office spaces as needed
  • Provide consultation with client contacts and assist in the governance and adherence of corporate standards
  • Work alongside senior designers on a wide range of projects while maintaining service levels for all operational requests
  • Perform AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel work to prepare build files for transfer from CAFM to Sun Life's workstation booking system
  • Complete AutoCAD updates for reconfigurations within drawings managed through CAFM
  • Input data leveraging the IWMS tool
  • Create custom excel reports for clients utilizing existing reports and databases

What do you need to succeed?

  • Indepth knowledge of AutoCAD and Word
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SketchUp and willingness to learn new tools
  • Ability to manage and track projects to meet milestones and schedules
  • Some travel within the GTA and Waterloo may be required
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple demands & effectively manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business requirements, and demonstrate solid process development skills
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a team and independently with some supervision

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for.

The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
