  • Job SummaryThe Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR) is the lead coordinating agency in the provincial government for all emergency management activities. EMCR works directly with local governments, Indigenous partners, provincial ministries and agencies, federal departments, other jurisdictions, industry and volunteers in hazard mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree (or higher) in a related discipline (e.g. emergency management, business administration, public administration, political science, law, social sciences, geography) PLUS two (2) years related* experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Related* experience must include all of the following:
  • Experience building relationships with internal and external officials/professionals and other partners.
  • Experience researching and developing briefing materials, reports, programs, policies, services, projects, and/or plans.
  • Experience working effectively with multiple projects and assignments.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience specific to the fields of disaster risk reduction, disaster risk management, and/or emergency management.

About this Position:

Flexible work options may not be available during emergency operations response periods.

This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Emergency Management & Climate Readiness offices: Victoria, Saanichton, Kamloops, Nelson, Terrace, Prince George, or Surrey.

This is a permanent opportunity.
