POSITION OVERVIEW


Are you interested in learning to work with children in a hands-on recreation environment? Then this position is for you Learn how to lead children ages years in fun, safe, active and inclusive experiences.

You will work within a team to provide physically active and social recreation opportunities in both indoor & outdoor environments.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of Grade 10, plus some relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Some knowledge of the fundamentals of program leadership and instruction of recreation programs.
  • Some knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures and policies governing the work.
  • Ability to provide leadership and instruction for special events, programs, camps and other activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicating and collaborating well with others
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with program participants.
  • Skill in the operation of equipment used in the work.

LICENCES AND CERTIFICATES
Standard First Aid and CPR - Level C.


HOURS OF WORK

  • Hours of work are governed by Schedule B (C, J) of the Collective Agreement alongside the Letter of Understanding for Workers in Children's/Youth Services and Recreation Access.
- _This is an Auxiliary position with no ongoing schedule of hours_
