Position Summary:


The Master Production Scheduler will have the primary responsibility for creating and maintaining the capacity plan and work cell schedules.


Reports To:
Production Planning Manager


Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop capacity models and measure utilization by work cell and provide recommendations for best efficiency
  • Using Excel and our ERP System, schedule the manufacturing jobs and track their progress through internal and external work centers
  • Creating and maintaining detailed and balanced schedules for manufacturing, and inspection work centers
  • Continuously ensure all required master data is accurate
  • Drive and map process and work flow
  • Establish priority lists and resolve conflicts in priorities
  • Liaise regularly with manufacturing teams as a primary support
  • Monitoring key metrics to ensure manufacturing performance, and the timely closure of work orders
  • Prepare for, and participate in, daily production meetings
  • Resolving daily problems, through analysis and troubleshooting of issues associated with the key metrics
  • Define and followup action plans to improve leadtimes and bottlenecks
  • Participating and supporting continuous improvement activities and initiatives
  • Other duties, as assigned

Organizational Relationships:

  • Will interact effectively and regularly with:
  • Hourly operations employees including Production Leaders
  • Inside Sales departments
  • Purchasing
  • Logistics & Shipping

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Related postsecondary diploma in Supply Chain management
  • 5+ years of previous, related experience in a Production role
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
  • Previous experience using an ERP/MRP systems
  • Subject matter expert in ERP scheduling software

Language Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communications required. Ability to interact clearly and confidently with all levels in the organization.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in ERP systems (knowledge with Visual Manufacturing and/or JDE an asset)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Intermediate to Advanced excel skills required

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Supply Chain certification (CPIM) an asset

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate information
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good working knowledge of planning BOM's and an understanding of material planning in this environment. Good working knowledge of material planning functions and systems.
