    Site: Hillcrest Reactivation Centre
    Reports to: Manager, Program Services
    Union: CUPE HC
    Hourly Rate: $ (start rate determined in accordance with collective agreement requirements)
    Hours: FTE; Shifts: 5 X
    Status: Permanent Full- Time
    Posting Date: April 25, 2024

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide social, educational and recreational programming to create a positive and engaging experience for clients
  • Plan and organize group activities with other team members based on clients' cognitive and physical capabilities
  • Program preparation including purchase of program supplies, producing of program flyers, activity calendar, and etc.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for program operation including activity area cleanliness, equipment maintenance, IPAC compliance, etc.
  • Transporting and/or escorting program participants to and from programs with the support of personal support workers
  • Documents client's abilities and records participation
  • Evaluate the success of events and activities, gather feedback from clients, and make improvements for future activities
  • Other duties assigned as required.
  • Qualifications

  • Education: Successful completion of a PSW program from an accredited community college
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Behavioral management training (such as PIECES, U-First, CPI) is considered an asset
  • Ability to handle daily mild to moderate physical exertion ( constant standing, walking, climbing, reaching and frequent movement) on an occasional to frequent basis
  • Acute care and/or previous rehab experience considered an asset
  • Good attendance record is required
