Job summary

Oversee cargo handling and secure loads including equipment preparation compliance with applicable Acts and regulations Familiarity and experience working with government documents such as manifests Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and load ensuring safety and roadworthiness Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation carriage of goods drivers hours of service occupational health and safety transportation of dangerous goods customs and immigration weights dimensions Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions following signals from loading crew as needed check that vehicle position is correct any special loading equipment is properly positioned Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical safety emergency equipment is in good working order Report vehicle defects accidents traffic violations damage to the vehicles Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete accurate Maintain logs of working hours vehicle service repair status following applicable state federal regulations Record maintain required documentation including driver logbook bills lading manifests by manual electronic means Communicate effectively public customers coworkers verbally written form Loading unloading trucks Perform periodic inspections before during after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down secure Deliver product proper paperwork customers courteous timely manner Ensure debris caused by loading/unloading truck cleaned up Provide feedback supervision regarding customer problems mechanical delivery problems Train others when required Other duties assigned Requirements High School diploma minimum Certification recognized Truck Driving School Valid Commercial Drivers license Overtime required Weekend work may be required on call schedule weekly basis Knowledge Skills Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude perform routine vehicle maintenance Demonstrated organizational skills strong oral written communication abilities Exceptional organizational skills task prioritization multi-tasking use timelines time management techniques High level personal integrity Strong work ethic Professional mature demeanor stressful situations Ability work fast-paced environment Confident consistent decisive personality Required work both indoors outdoors Manual dexterity ability lift lbs We thank you interest Only those selected interview will contacted GFL committed equal opportunity without regard race religion color national origin citizenship sex sexual orientation gender identity age veteran status disability genetic information protected characteristic If are interested applying employment need special assistance accommodation apply posted position please contact
