    Medical Transportation Clerks

    For the Community of La Ronge

    Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is now inviting applications for 2 (two) Casual Medical Transportation Clerks for the community of La Ronge. Successful candidates will work under the direction of the Medical Transportation Coordinator. The ideal candidates will be responsible for day-to-day reception, switchboard, clerical support & medical transportation in-town & out-of-town travel arrangements for members of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

    Duties:

  • Providing general office functions: incoming calls, typing, maintaining filing system, operating office equipment, coordinate & distribute incoming mail & supplies, appointment bookings;
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings, record, type and distribute minutes;
  • Maintain adequate general office supply inventory for the Medical Transportation Call Centre, through the LLRIB Health Services Main Office;
  • Preparing necessary forms, certificates and medical attendance, transportation warrants and distributes copies as necessary;
  • Coordinating the medical transportation to ensure maximum economy and efficiency;
  • Informing and educating the Band Membership of the First Nations and Inuit Health (FNIH) roles and responsibilities of patient transportation assistance and the client's responsibilities when they require assistance for medical travel;
  • Coordinating appointments with attending Physician's clinics;
  • Assist clients with making appointments as necessary;
  • Prepare month-end reports and monthly inventory reports;
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum Certificate in Administration; combination of education and relevant experience may be considered;
  • Proficiency in software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience working within a First Nations Organization and/or working with First Nations is an asset;
  • Ability to speak/understand Cree is a definite asset;
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver's license and able to travel when required;
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance/Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver's Abstract required upon hire;
