    Toronto - 4 Days WFO

    A Dynatrace Expert is a senior specialist in observability and AIOps, responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing advanced Dynatrace solutions within large, complex enterprise ecosystems.

    This role goes beyond traditional monitoring, emphasising platform architecture, AI-driven operations (Davis AI), automation, standardisation, and proactive incident prevention.

    Core Responsibilities

    Dynatrace Platform Architecture & Ownership

    Architect, deploy, configure, and optimise Dynatrace SaaS or Managed environments for enterprise-scale operations.

    Own and define the overall observability strategy, encompassing applications, infrastructure, cloud, containers, and services.

    Ensure platform scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and effective governance.

    Intelligent Operations & Davis AI Enablement

    Leverage Davis AI for automated anomaly detection, deterministic root cause analysis based on causation, noise reduction, and consolidated problem insights.

    Configure detection baselines, rules, and impact analysis to align with business services.

    Promote proactive and preventive operations rather than reactive monitoring.

    Advanced Use Case & Template Development

    Develop standardised templates for monitoring and alerting by application or team.

    Create templates for incident and problem workflows in line with ITSM practices.

    Design dashboards for infrastructure, applications, SRE, and executive leadership.

    Establish reusable best-practice patterns to accelerate onboarding for applications and teams.

    Automation & "Monitoring as Code"

    Implement automation-focused observability using Dynatrace Configuration as Code (Monaco).

    Integrate with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.

    Automate the deployment of dashboards, alerts, management zones, and governance policies.

    Connect Dynatrace to event-driven and automated remediation workflows.

    Deep Performance & Root Cause Analysis

    Perform advanced performance troubleshooting across distributed microservices, cloud and hybrid infrastructures, and Kubernetes or containerised platforms.

    Analyse distributed traces, logs, metrics, dependencies, and service flows.

    Provide actionable recommendations that extend beyond diagnostics.

    DQL, Dashboards & Advanced Analytics

    Develop optimised Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) queries for custom analytics, executive and operational dashboards, and cost, reliability, and performance optimisation.

    Build dashboards using Dynatrace Gen3 apps, including Dashboards, Workflows, Services, Problems, and Distributed Traces.

    Cross-Team Enablement & Advisory

    Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for infrastructure, SRE/DevOps, application, and platform teams.

    Lead workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and best-practice reviews.

    Advise teams on observability maturity, roadmap development, and implementation strategy.

    Required Skills & Experience

    Mandatory Technical Skills

    Hands-on experience with the Dynatrace platform.

    Strong knowledge of Davis AI, Smartscape topology, distributed tracing, service and dependency analysis.

    Advanced Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) expertise.

    Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.

    Comprehensive understanding of Application Performance Monitoring (APM), infrastructure monitoring, and AIOps principles.
