Industrial Painter

Location:
Western Canada

Type:
Full Time, Hourly
Barrier Group Is looking for an experienced full-time (seasonal)
Industrial Painter/Coater. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepping materials for sandblasting or coating, including removing previous paint surfaces
  • Masking of materials
  • Maintaining equipment required for the job
  • Previous experience in the use and maintenance of paint spray systems including conventional, airless, and plural
  • Previous experience coating Piping Internals and Tanks/Vessels
  • Safely and properly storing and disposing of chemical waste
  • Using instruments to ensure specifications and quality are met
  • Completion of Quality Control documents
  • Completion of daily LEMs
  • Read and interpret specifications to ensure all requirements are met
  • Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Barrier Group's safe work practices, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to identify hazards
  • Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision
  • Assist with other duties as required

Required Qualifications:


  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience with industrial painting
  • Familiar with Industrial Paint Codes and Standards
  • Familiar with spraying and sandblasting equipment
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with 3year clean Driver's Abstract
  • Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement is considered an asset
  • CSTS or PCST Certification
  • Standard First Aid Certification
  • H2S Alive Certification
  • NACE Certificate is considered an asset
  • OSSA Confined Space is considered an asset
  • OSSA Fall Protection is considered an asset
  • OSSA EWP is considered an asset
  • Must be able to pass preemployment and preaccess drug and alcohol testing
  • Must complete a Physical Demands Assessment

Working Conditions:
