About the job.

This Position works in collaboration with the Director of Food and Beverage, Sales and Events Manager, and Supervisors to assist with daily operations in Food and Beverage outlets and events. This position is a management presence on the floor and is responsible for the daily performance of the FOH team. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager uses strategic planning and problem solving to address departmental operating concerns. It sets the service level standard and assists with leading the Food and Beverage team by providing vision and direction for the team.


What you'll be doing.

  • Lead service on a daily basis and set the atmosphere and feeling of the floor
  • Oversee kitchen output and delivery to guests; address guest feedback and QSA concerns
  • Work alongside the Director of Food & Beverage to monitor inventory control
  • Assist with department action plans and project management
  • Assist with the creation and monitoring of wine, cocktail, and beer list
  • Be present on the floor during peak periods of business and identify areas that may require support
  • Monitor employee skill level and development needs; provide coaching, feedback, and continuous training
  • Effectively create and monitor department promotions and special events
  • Ensure group functions and events are accommodated and served accordingly
  • Comprehensive knowledge of menu items and pairings in all venues
  • Accurately schedule employees and monitor labour costs using 7shifts
  • Develop programs and incentives for department to meet specific sales targets

  • 35 years experience in a fullservice restaurant or combined experience and education
  • 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a fullservice, fast paced restaurant
  • High proficiency with MS Office and POS systems
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
  • Serving It Right and FoodSafe certification
