Purpose:
- Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, and dotted line to the Director of Construction, the Area Construction Coordinator
Responsibilities
- Provide Constructability input and leadership thru design.
- Provides Construction installation sequence to Engineering.
- Coordinates the timely delivery of EWPs to align with the installation sequence of construction.
- Assists in the development of the SOW for the CWP
- Coordinates the procurement interface between Engineering, Procurement through to Construction ensuring RAS dates are identified to align with the Contractors execution phase.
- Accountable for the direct oversight of the field activities of contractor for the execution of in scope contract work within the area and Discipline
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of the execution phase of the project for their discipline.
- Ensure all field activities within the Area are executed in a safe and efficient manner.
- With the area QA Coordinator, provide onsite quality management for the area ensuring that technical requirements such as
specifications, drawings and procedures are adhered to
- Ensure the Contractor adherence to project and general site procedures
- In conjunction with the Construction Manager, EH&S Manager and Area Contractor, conduct random safety audits and inspections.
- Ensure that all penetration permits are adhered to and that asbuilts are diligently completed related to their discipline.
- Provide weekly project updates to the Construction Manager
- Review detailed look ahead schedules of the contractor and ensure compliance with scheduled milestones, level 3 execution schedules, and the project execution plan related to their discipline
- Report on progress of field execution of project and initiate corrective action where appropriate related to their discipline.
- Validate and attest progress levels reported by the contractor related to their discipline.
- Provide spot quantity audits for attestation of Earned Value and Progress reporting related to their discipline.
- Work with the Commissioning Manager to assist with development of the detailed commissioning and start up plan related to their discipline
- Provide input to the Contracts Administrator and Projects Controls for trend notices and deviation alerts as required related to their discipline.
- Ensure turnover of systems and related documentation as per the project Mechanical Completion Procedure related to their discipline
- Responsible for providing input to the Area Project Engineer and Engineering Manager in formulating responses to Non-Conformance Report and Technical Deviation Requests related to their discipline
- Responsible for assisting the Area Project Engineer in responding to Contractor Request for Information related to their discipline
Requirements:
- Civil Engineering Degree or Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician Diploma or equivalent related experience.
- Knowledge of best practices, methods, trends and legislation in construction (Ontario)
- Clear orientation to Health and safety
- Experience with budgeting, procurement, planning and scheduling and contract administration.
- Experience in construction of large industrial projects
