    POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides support to the CIO, and direct reports
  • Develops and monitors annual budgets of approximately $350M Expense and supports development of $120M Capital budgets
  • Development of IS Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for technology solutions
  • Development of SAM (Software Asset Management Process) practice
  • This position directs IS budget development; guides ongoing adjustments to the spending outlook and performs monthly variance, trend analysis and interpretation. It also provides ongoing variance and trend analysis for the overall workforce plan for the IS department identifying areas where workforce plans and projected project/expense spend are not aligned. This variance and trend analysis is executed for the CIO, IS lead team and cost centre owners. This position has direct accountability for the collection; analysis and communication of IT organizational and functional effectiveness measurements
  • This position also leads in the development, implementation and maintenance of methods, standards, procedures and guidelines related to workforce resource management
  • This position directs the development of IS Total Cost of Ownership (ToC) for technology solutions – including technology infrastructure, software, and technology services. This position is accountable to work with technology owners and corporate finance and accounting to ensure corporate alignment on accounting (capital and expense) for technology solutions
  • This position will also lead trend analysis, interpretation, and provide recommendations on technology investments and working with technology owners to develop recommendations for corporate solutions
  • This position development of SAM (Software Asset Management Process) practice that involves managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications within an organization
  • This position is responsible for developing and maintaining successful relationships with our client's vendor network, establishing and measuring required performance levels from vendor onboarding throughout the entire relationship. This professional will manage the contracted KPIs and manage risk, and opportunities for savings
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or equivalent in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, IT or other relevant field
  • 8+ years of experience in budgeting or financial planning and reporting
  • Extensive experience in Finance & Accounting, Budgeting and Business Case justification
  • Conveying variance/budget/forecast changes to Finance
  • Negotiating with Finance budget/forecast changes and process
  • Influence key stakeholders in process development around TCO – both internal to IS and other stakeholders (Finance)
  • Negotiating Budget changes with budget owners
  • Influence the development of Software Asset Mgmt Practice for organization.
  • Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others
  • Proven experience working as a vendor manager
