    Position Overview

    Metro Vancouver is constructing a new water supply tunnel between the City of New Westminster and the City of Surrey. This project is one of five new regional water supply tunnels that are being designed to meet current seismic standards to ensure the reliable delivery of drinking water in the region in the event of a major earthquake. When complete, the tunnel will also increase the capacity of the existing system to meet the long-term needs of the growing population.

    The Project Controls Specialist will work on the Annacis Water Supply Tunnel project, located in Surrey, BC. This project is being constructed by a General Partnership between Traylor Bros and Aecon Construction (Traylor Aecon GP).

    What You'll Do Here:

    • Develop and maintain project financials including job cost, revenue and cash flows.
    • Maintain project level cost and budget utilizing company provided software including entry of cost adjustments, quantities, forecast cost to complete and budget revisions.
    • Prepare monthly progress reports for client and quarterly reports for corporate review.
    • Develop and maintain critical path method baseline and progress schedules.
    • Prepare time impact analysis schedules for changed conditions.
    • Maintain subcontractor contracts payments, and payment applications to the client.
    • Participate in project decisions regarding cost and scheduling.
    • Investigate problems and/or reported incidents; identify and recommend solutions/alternatives as appropriate.
    • Assemble cost and schedule proposals for change order work.
    • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by project management.
    • Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, training, etc.
    • Ability to relocate as needed.

    Desired Experience & Background

    • 4-year degree in related field: engineering, construction management, business, etc.
    • 2-3 years of similar project controls work for self-perform contractor on smaller (

    The expected pay range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000.
