Recruitment Incentives:


Signing bonuses starting at $5000 with potential for up to $10,000 for rural placements plus up to $5000 for relocation expenses (Return of Service Agreements required).

About the Opportunity:


As a member of the team, the Physician Assistant (PA) will report to the Primary Supervising Physician and functions within a dynamic collaborative care team.

Under the supervision of a surgeon/physician, the PA will provide general medical and surgical care to patients with a wide variety of traumatic injuries, acute conditions, and elective surgical disorders.


Physician Assistant Responsibilities:


  • Obtain health history as appropriate, including patient demographics
  • Conduct comprehensive and focused physical assessments and interpret findings
  • Utilize primary and secondary assessment results to formulate a differential diagnosis and determine if further clinical investigation is required
  • Order preliminary diagnostic testing and followup; with interpretation of results
  • Formulate a treatment and management plan based on assessment and investigation results, availability of services and special needs of patient
  • Implement effective treatment plans that include preventive and therapeutic interventions, demonstrating appropriate procedural skills, as determined by the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants Scope of Practice and National Competency Profile, and the supervising physician
  • Collaborate with and seek appropriate consultation from the supervising physician and other health professionals involved in the patient's care

Compensation:

- $ $ hourly ($85,619 - $113,762 annually)


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of or currently enrolled in an accredited recognized Physician Assistant program in Canada or the United States
  • Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA), granted by the Physician Assistants Certification Council of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants
  • BLSC Certification required
  • Medical Liability Insurance required
  • Must have recent clinical experience and preferably been exposed to Family Medicine in the workplace or as part of clinical training
  • Experience in the area/program is preferred
  • The following certifications or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment and telecommunications skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
