We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef/ Line Cook who currently lives in The Kawarthas to join our culinary team (if you are a Red Seal Chef we might consider helping you with lodging at our hotel).
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Chef/Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards of our kitchen. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with fellow team members to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Food plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during service
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when necessary, providing guidance and support
- Manage inventory levels, restocking supplies as needed
- Ensure timely delivery of orders to the dining area, maintaining service speed and accuracy
- Uphold hospitality standards by serving guests with professionalism and courtesy
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings
- Supervising or team management experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling techniques
- Excellent skills in food industry practices, including kitchen operations and hospitality service
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred
- Knowledge of serving standards and customer service excellence is desirable
