The Financial Management Office is the central financial team for the BC Public Service Agency and is responsible for the overall financial management framework.
Services include budgeting and forecasting, corporate activities and reporting, core financial operations, financial policy advice, contract management and other expertise supporting the Operations Vote, Benefits Vote, Payroll, Long Term Disability Plan as well as other Human Resource functions for government.
This position provides advisory services in the development and monitoring of government-wide employee benefit accounting frameworks; integrate the reporting of benefits financial and operational results; and assess and make recommendations on the financial implications of new initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma in the field of financial management or an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum two (2) year experience conducting business case analysis and financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Minimum two (2) year experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
- Minimum two (2) year experience analyzing financial and accounting statements and developing financial reports.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
- Experience in CAS/Oracle Financials, and/or CHIPS/PeopleSoft.
- Experience using Sage 300.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in the leadership and supervision of staff.
